Jay Statham’s Country/Red Dirt Rock style provides the comfort of familiarity with a classic rock-n-roll vibe. His music satisfies a craving for energy while preserving it’s country roots.
Jay was born in Amarillo, Texas and was raised as an only child. Music was the one thing that occupied the void most people spend their childhoods trying to fill.
At age 13, Jay picked up his first guitar and within a year had formed his own band. This is where he found the concept of camaraderie and realized how it played a crucial roll in not only his live performances, but his own personal fulfillment.
Jay launched his dream into a career by diving off of the Texas Panhandle into the heat of the music scene at a young age.
By 17 years old, he hit the road toward branding his music business. He began touring throughout Texas and Oklahoma then expanding to a national level. Listeners quickly became fans of his bold yet poignant presentation of a new kind of country music.
His admiration for Country and Red Dirt music was nurtured by a deep respect for greats like Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and George Jones. On the flip side, Jay is heavily drawn to rock influences such as AC/DC and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Ultimately the layering of his rock-n-roll desires with his relatable country driven content gave Jay the taste he was looking for.
He soon found himself sharing stages with reputable artists such as Wade Bowen, Stoney LaRue, Casey Donahew, Jon Wolfe, Josh Ward, Treaty Oak Revival, Koe Wetzel, Giovannie & The Hired Guns, Dylan Wheeler, JB & The Moonshine Band, Micky & The Motorcars, Bart Crow, Kody West and Jason Boland, just to name a few.
Eventually, Jay joined forces with music producer Phil Kirk Mosley. Together, they began recording a well written and brow raising catalog of his kind of country.
Jay pushed into 2023 strong releasing Hell That I’m In, Drowning and Drunk Love as only a taste of what’s to come.
Jay has now partnered with Cuhmon Entertainment and currently touring wherever his music takes him.
